Chongqing Qijiang Aikon Rehabilitation Hospital is a non-profitable medical organization and a specialized rehabilitation hospital integrating healthcare, prevention, rehabilitation, treatment and scientific research. Meanwhile, it is the only private unit of medical treatment alliance of the People’s Hospital of Qijiang District, a model hospital of Chongqing Disabled Association system, and a designated rehabilitation unit for disabled children in Chongqing.
From its establishment in 2013, the hospital has adhered to quality for survival, innovation for development, and service for recognition. By constantly enhancing talent cultivation and technical innovation, improving medical environment and upgrading overall service, the hospital is marching towards the mission of “Let patients realize physical and psychological rehabilitation, and regain confidence and courage for life”.
In 2018, the fifth year from its establishment, the hospital has gradually changed from rapid development to stable improvement. However, unstandardized management system, lack of practitioners for modern rehabilitation concepts, and weakness in rehabilitation skills have hindered the hospital development. Therefore, in May 2018, the hospital launched CARF accreditation project with OKEWAY. Through systematic investigation, OKEWAY presented the following problems to be solved:
As a specialized rehabilitation hospital, poor comprehensive quality of the practitioners is the core barrier for further hospital development;
For improving employee rehabilitation concepts, professional capabilities and service competency, the hospital is lacking for good external resources and scientific internal training system;
Incomplete hospital management system and unclear business workflow result in both hospital management chaos and waste of quality human resources.

With professional assistance from Shundao Consulting in preparation for CARF accreditation, Chongqing Qijiang Aikang Rehabilitation Hospital has passed the three-year accreditation for Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Program (Adult) and (Children and Teenager) in February 2020.
In my eyes, the greatest help from CARF is that our leadership knows more about rehabilitation and becomes closer to employees.
